Is it true that some alcoholic drinks cause worse hangovers than others? Have you ever wondered what kind of drinks cause hangovers? Is it beer from bottles, keg beer, red wine, white wine, hard liquor?

“Experts say that the type of alcohol you drink does make a difference, but for various reasons. Among the most important is the amount of congeners (pronounced CON-juh-nurz) — complex organic molecules — in a particular drink. Impurities in poorly refined spirits like cheap vodka can also play a role, but congeners, which are common in darker liquors, seem to have the greatest effect.

According to one report in The British Medical Journal, which looked at the effects of different types of alcohol, the drink that produced the most hangover symptoms was brandy, followed by red wine, rum, whiskey, white wine, gin and vodka. Another study showed that bourbon was twice as likely to cause sickness as the same amount of vodka.”

As for wines, although experts have had a hard time pin-pointing what influences the severity of a hangover, they do know it varies from brand to brand, grape to grape and price to price.

It only take 3.2 drinks to induce a hangover according to a recent survey. For some people it can take 1 to 2 drinks.

Anything with alcohol can potentially cause a hangover, however, as New York Times states “certain types of alcohol can make a hangover worse.”

Next time you buy alcohol you’ll be just little bit more informed on what drinks cause hangovers to make sure you enjoy the morning after.

How many times have you had an important social engagement to attend at night, yet you had to wake up and work the very next morning?

It was a toss up, but you couldn’t resist to attend the engagement. The next day you only wish you had one less drink. Your hangover feels like you got punched in the back of head and left in the Sahara desert with no water.

So can you really work hard and play hard at the same time? Is that an oxymoron? Well, maybe not if you didn’t have to deal with the hangovers. At least that’s what our customers think after using the Zaca ‘hangover patch.’

What do you think?
